Non-Title XIX Medicaid Mental Health Services

The Non-Title XIX Medicaid Mental Health Services exists to provide brief treatment to at-risk consumers 18 years of age and older in the Spokane County community who suffer from a mental illness, who may have received inpatient psychiatric services, and/or may need inpatient psychiatric services if less restrictive and less intensive services are not available in the community.

Services provided include:

  • Psychiatric consultations, evaluations, and psychiatric medication management;
  • Linkages among medical professionals;
  • Assistance with food, housing, employment, and other financial needs;
  • Brief, solution focused services to help at-risk consumers identify and solve problems;
  • Assistance obtaining Medicaid benefits when possible;
  • Treatment services for individuals who are on a court ordered Less Restrictive Alternative (LRA).

This special service may be accessed through SMH's Crisis Response Services when individuals meet mental health eligibility requirements and when other treatment services are not available in the community. Generally, services may not be provided for more than 90 days unless an individual is on a LRA.
